How to use it

Acute illness adds 2 pts. If no nutritional intake for ≥5 days (nil by mouth, dysphagia, GI failure).

MUST ≥2. Dietitian referral within 24h. Commence nutritional support while awaiting review.
When to use it
- Hospital admission
- NICE NG22: MUST screen on admission + weekly for inpatients.
- Care homes
- MUST applied monthly (BAPEN recommendation).
- Community
- GP annual review for patients at risk (elderly, cancer, IBD, dementia).
