Abstract
We present the case of a 90-year-old female patient with a facial skin lesion located on the left hemiface. The lesion originated in the region of the left upper maxilla and showed progressive growth in the absence of medical management. Figure A shows the lesion after approximately five years of evolution, characterized by an irregular tumor mass with erythematous areas, central ulceration, and infiltrated borders compromising the nasal dorsum and the left malar region. Figure B shows the progression eight months later, revealing an increase in tumor size, greater ulceration and necrotic areas, with extension toward the nasal bridge, the left nasolabial fold, and the left lower eyelid. The clinical findings are suggestive of advanced basal cell carcinoma. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common malignant skin tumor and is characterized by slow growth but potentially destructive behavior when timely treatment is not received.
