Anxiety in patients with cancer and emergency department use: a systematic review
By Chung HY, Nagaratnam K, Walsh C and 4 others.
Abstract
Anxiety is common among patients with cancer, with up to 30% of patients experiencing clinically significant symptoms at some point following their cancer diagnosis. Although patients with cancer frequently use the emergency department (ED), the relationship between anxiety and ED use in this population remains unclear. The objective of this systematic review was to synthesize the existing literature examining the association between anxiety in adults with cancer and subsequent ED use.
