Assessing Survival Outcomes of Breast Cancer Patients using Survival Analysis
By N. Paranjothi A. Poongothai.
Abstract
Abstract: Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women, though it can occur in bothmen and women of any age. In adults over the age of 40, it is most often diagnosed. Substantial supportfor breast cancer awareness and research funding has enabled advances in diagnosis and treatment. Thisstudy aims to explore Survival Analysis applications in healthcare, specifically in Primary HealthCheckup (PHC). Data was collected from a secondary source, containing 300 patients from PrivateHospital in Bangalore, which included socio-demographic characteristics, Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP),Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP), Oxygen Saturation (SPo2), and diabetic-related parameters. Aretrospective study was conducted with a median follow-up time, creating a clinical database for survivalby the Kaplan-Meier product-limit method and Cox regression. The p-value of the log-rank test was 0.07,indicating no significant difference between the groups.
