CrociVanceTM STANDARDIZED SAFFRON EXTRACT Saffron Beyond the Spice From Crocus sativus phytochemistry to evidence-based human health applications
By Jose M. Lopez.
Abstract
Saffron has progressed from a high-value culinary spice to a serious subject of nutritional neuroscience. The most credible commercial opportunity is not to portray it as a universal botanical, but to build around the specific domains where controlled human studies are most coherent: mood, psychological stress and sleep. Cognitive, cardiometabolic, ocular, reproductive and sexual-health findings remain scientifically relevant, but they do not currently carry the same evidential weight.
