To evaluate the effectof an educational nursing program on medication adherence and self-efficacyamong postmenopausal women diagnosed with cervical cancer.
A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was used. Subjects: Fortypostmenopausal women diagnosed with cervical cancer were recruited from theOncology Inpatient Department at Damanhour National Medical Institute, AlBeheira Governorate, Egypt. Participants were assigned to either an interventiongroup (n = 20) or a control group (n = 20). Tools: Data was collected using astructured interview schedule, the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale, and theGeneral Self-Efficacy Scale.
Following the educational intervention, theintervention group demonstrated significant improvements in medicationadherence (mean score increased from 0.15 to 7.11) and self-efficacy (mean scoreincreased from 20.95 to 30.90; p < 0.001). No significant changes were observedin the control group.
The educational nursing program effectivelyenhanced medication adherence and self-efficacy among postmenopausal womenwith cervical cancer. Recommendations: Integrating structured nurse-lededucational programs into routine oncology care may improve treatmentadherence and empower patients to manage their condition more effectively.Further studies involving larger samples and longer follow-up periods arerecommended to validate these findings
