FDG PET Positivity Is Common Across the Clinical Spectrum of Well-Differentiated Pulmonary Neuroendocrine Tumors
By Muzykovskaia E, Fraenkel M and Twito O.
Abstract
Background
/Objectives: The clinical significance of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in well-differentiated pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (WD-PulNETs) remains uncertain. We evaluated FDG positivity in routine clinical practice.
Methods
This multicenter retrospective cohort included histologically confirmed typical or atypical pulmonary carcinoids. FDG PET/CT was classified as positive or negative according to the original nuclear-medicine report.
