Specification for the clinical application of diode laser in dentistry

In recent years, diode laser has been increasingly utilized in the treatment of oral diseases due to its advantages of minimal invasiveness, precision, and patient comfort. The therapeutic efficacy has been widely recognized both domestically and internationally. However, standardized clinical operating guidelines for the application of diode laser in dentistry have yet to be established in China, which limit practical guidance for clinical use. From April 2024 to November 2025, the Oral Health Branch Association of China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics led to develop a preliminary draft of guidelines through clinical investigations and literature reviews. National multidisciplinary clinical experts in dentistry were convened to review and revise the guidelines. The document outlines the indications and specific operational requirements for diode laser across various dental subspecialties, aiming to promote standardized clinical application, optimize the therapeutic benefits of laser in oral disease management, and enhance treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.

近年来，半导体激光因其微创、精准、舒适等特点，在口腔疾病治疗中展示出优势而应用愈加广泛，其治疗效果受到国内外广泛认可，但国内尚未形成半导体激光的口腔临床应用操作规范，对实际应用的指导性欠佳。2024年4月至2025年11月中国老年学和老年医学学会口腔保健分会牵头成立编写组，通过临床调研与查阅文献完成规范初稿，同时召集国内口腔多学科临床专家研讨修订此规范，内容包含半导体激光在口腔各亚专科的适用范围和具体操作要求，旨在促进半导体激光的临床规范化应用，更好地发挥激光在口腔疾病治疗中的优势，提高疾病治疗效果和患者满意度。.
