FIB-4 Index calculator
Result
1.10
Low — F0–F1, advanced fibrosis excluded (NPV ~91%)
How to use it
- 1
Standard LFTs + FBC. No fasting required. Consistent with other LFT samples.
- 2
Cutoffs vary by age. Age >65: use < 2.0 as low cutoff to reduce false-positives.
- 3
FIB-4 < 1.30. Very high NPV for advanced fibrosis — can avoid further testing in low-risk patients.
When to use it
- MASLD (NAFLD) screening
- EASL/AASLD recommend FIB-4 as first-line non-invasive test.
- Chronic viral hepatitis
- Validated in HCV (F2–F4 prediction) and HBV.
- Follow-up after treatment
- FIB-4 improvement correlates with regression of fibrosis (SVR in HCV, SGLT2i in NASH).
