Medical and non-medical out-of-pocket cost and time burden of COVID-19 illness in U.S. children and adults: a cross-sectional survey study

Background

While health system costs of COVID-19 are well documented, evidence on out-of-pocket costs to patients and families, including non-medical and time burden, is limited. This study aimed to estimate out-of-pocket medical, non-medical, and time burden of COVID-19 illness directly from patients and caregivers.
