Urine Protein:Creatinine Ratio calculator
Result
0.20g/g (≈ g/day)
Mildly increased (microalbuminuria range)
How to use it
- 1
Random spot urine. Morning first-void preferred for CKD monitoring.
- 2
PCR ≈ 24h urine protein in g/day. Reasonable correlation in most patients.
- 3
Albuminuria vs. proteinuria. ACR preferred for diabetic nephropathy screening; PCR for established proteinuria.
When to use it
- CKD monitoring
- KDIGO: PCR ≥0.3 g/g (A2) warrants ACEi/ARB regardless of BP.
- Nephrotic syndrome
- PCR ≥3.5 g/g + hypoalbuminaemia + oedema = nephrotic syndrome.
- Glomerulonephritis
- PCR trend tracks disease activity and treatment response.
