Abstract
Background
Taijiquan, also widely known as Tai Chi, is a traditional Chinese mind-body exercise that has been associated with physical and psychological health benefits among older adults. Despite these benefits, sustained participation may be influenced by psychological commitment and contextual determinants. A population-specific measure is therefore needed to assess commitment to Taijiquan exercise among older adults. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Taijiquan Exercise Commitment Scale for Chinese Elderly (TECS-CE).
