Pediatric Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome: A Rare Case Report and Literature Review From Sudan
By Mohammed AYY, Ali IMS, Abdulrahman AK and 4 others.
Abstract
A 10-year-old Sudanese boy with chronic bilious vomiting, cachexia, and scaphoid abdomen was diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS) via CT angiography. After failed conservative management, side-to-side duodenojejunostomy resolved symptoms. This first reported pediatric SMAS case from Sudan highlights early CT diagnosis to prevent prolonged morbidity.
