Determine the factors associated with persistent post-Covid-19 symptoms in adult patients treated at the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital, 2021.
Observational, non-experimental, quantitative, case-control and retrospective study. The sample was 214 adult patients, of which 107 were from the case group and 107 from the control group; The sampling was systematic probabilistic. Statistical analyzes were performed using the Chi square test and binary logistic regression. Approval was obtained from the hospital ethics committee.
According to the bivariate analysis, age from 36 to 65 years (p=0,000; OR=3,518), presenting at least one comorbidity (p=0,002; OR=2,596), having vaccines against Covid-19 (p=0,001; OR=14,660), obese (p=0,023; OR=1,920), presenting severe initial Covid-19 (p=0,000; OR=4,062), oxygen therapy (p=0,002; OR=2,765) and admission to the ICU (p =0,005; OR=2,360) were significantly associated with persistent post-Covid-19 symptoms. However, the multivariate analysis finally demonstrated that age from 36 to 65 years (p=0,004; ORa=4,918) and the presence of at least one comorbidity (p=0,010; ORa=2,738) were factors significantly associated with persistent symptoms post-Covid-19.
