Knowledge and Self-Reported Practice of Bag Valve Mask Use in Neonatal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation among Nurses in Secondary Health Facilities in Ekiti State, Nigeria
By Mary Ayodeji OLOFIN-SAMUEL.
Abstract
Background
Effective bag valve mask (BVM) ventilation is the single most important intervention for a non-breathing newborn, and the nurse who delivers it must possess both sound knowledge and consistent practice. Evidence on these competencies among nurses in Nigerian secondary health facilities, the first formal referral level for neonatal emergencies, remains scarce.
