Comparison of Flap Fixation and Conventional Wound Closure Following Modified Radical Mastectomy: A Prospective Cohort Study
By Ananya Johari and Karthikeyan Selvaraj.
Abstract
Introduction
Seroma formation is the most common postoperative complication following Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM), resulting from disruption of lymphatic channels and persistence of dead space. Although suction drains are routinely used, seroma formation remains a significant challenge. Flap fixation with quilting sutures has been proposed to obliterate dead space and reduce seroma formation.
