Histopathological Spectrum and Treatment Outcomes of Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis: A Prospective Cohort Study

Introduction

Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis (IGM) is a rare chronic inflammatory breast disease and a diagnosis of exclusion. Although traditionally described as a lobulo-centric disease, ductal involvement has not been systematically assessed. High recurrence rates and lack of consensus regarding optimal treatment remain major challenges. In this study, we have evaluated the detailed histopathological changes in IGM with emphasis on ductal pathology and assessed their association with treatment outcomes.
