Abstract
Background
Necrotising fasciitis is a rapidly progressive, life threatening soft tissue infection associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Early recognition, prompt surgical source control, appropriate antimicrobial therapy and intensive supportive care is essential to improve outcomes. This study describes the clinical profile, microbiological characteristics, management strategies and outcome of the patients with necrotising fasciitis treated at a tertiary care hospital.
