The DNA Sensor AIM2 Determines B Cell Fate after BCR Activation in Chronic GVHD
By Fahmin Basher, Jonathan Visentin, Wei Jia and 2 others.
Abstract
BackgroundAlloantibody production and aberrant B Cell Receptor (BCR) signaling play fundamental roles in chronic graft-vs-host disease (cGVHD).In a single cell RNA sequencing study, we found that transcript levels of the DNA sensor Absent in Melanoma 2 (AIM2) were significantly increased in BCR-activated B cell clusters in cGVHD.AIM2-expressing B cells are augmented after in vitro BCR and IFNγ stimulation. We therefore hypothesize that AIM2-BCR signaling determines context-dependent B cell fate.
