The gut–brain connection: Where nutrition meets neuroscience
By Hassan Muhammad, Mantasha Siddique, Khushmeet, Kaur, and 1 others.
Abstract
You've felt it before. The flutter of nerves before a big presentation. The knot in your stomach when you receive bad news. For most of human history, we treated these sensations as poetic curiosities — the gut somehow 'knowing' what the mind refuses to admit. Ancient writers spoke of bowels of compassion and burning courage. It turns out they were onto something far more literal than they could have imagined.
