Abstract
Background
Arjuna, described in Ayurvedic literature as a Shuklagata Roga, presents with a painless red discoloration of the ocular surface and can be correlated clinically with subconjunctival haemorrhage. Although subconjunctival haemorrhage is generally self-limiting in modern ophthalmology, its cosmetic appearance and associated ocular discomfort may require therapeutic management. Ayurveda recommends Aschyotana as an important local therapeutic procedure in Netra Rogas.
