Flow Collapse Model: A Mechanistic Hypothesis Linking Digestive Infrastructure Failure to Disrupted 24-Hour Energy Continuity
By Mio Writes.
Abstract
This paper extends the Flow Collapse Model (FCM) to the concept of 24-hour energy continuity: the ability to maintain usable energy between meals and during overnight fasting without continuous food intake. It proposes that impaired digestive and absorptive capacity may reduce usable substrate and metabolic reserve generated from meals, weakening the transition from meal-derived nutrients to endogenous fuel sources such as hepatic glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis, and fatty-acid utilization. Disrupted_24-Hour_Energy_Contin… The model introduces the concept of an energy-continuity gap, defined as a potential mismatch between metabolic demand and available or mobilizable substrate, and proposes inter-meal tolerance as a practical functional readout of the coupled processes of digestion, absorption, storage, mobilization, and fuel switching. The paper also distinguishes this proposed mechanism from biochemically confirmed hypoglycemia and from the non-established diagnosis of “adrenal fatigue,” and presents testable predictions for future research.
