Stenosing Tenosynovitis of the Fourth Dorsal Compartment of the Wrist: A Case Series of Treatment with In-office Percutaneous Release
By Nahum M. Beard.
Abstract
Abstract Background: Fourth dorsal compartment (DC) stenosing tenosynovitis of the wrist is a rare cause of extensor compartment tendinopathy, morphologically distinct from proliferative tenosynovitis. This condition is clearly distinguishable currently only by ultrasound criteria which has previously been described only once in the literature. This article presents a retrospective series of six patients with a clinical syndrome and diagnostic ultrasound findings consistent with stenosing disease.
