Abstract
Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) has a chronic nature. In case of contraindications with hormonal therapies, it is mandatory to identify a safe and well-tolerated non-hormonal alternative. The study evaluated the efficacy of multi-ingredient natural vaginal softgel capsules containing hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, argan oil, and vitamin E in improving GSM. This study included 40 postmenopausal women diagnosed with GSM. Participants inserted one vaginal softgel capsule once daily for 20 consecutive days per month, over a three-month treatment period. Clinical evaluation was performed at baseline and after 3 months. As primary endpoints, the improvement in vaginal dryness and dyspareunia were evaluated. The symptom severity was assessed using the Verbal Rating Scale (VRS). Vaginal health was assessed using the Vaginal Health Index (VHI). The study was approved by Ethics Committee code 25832. After treatment, we observed a statistically significant reduction in the mean scores assessed by the Verbal Rating Scale (VRS) for vaginal dryness (p < 0.0001) and dyspareunia (p < 0.0001). The VRS showed a statistically significant reduction (p < 0.0001). The Vaginal Health Index (VHI) also showed a significant increase (p < 0.0001). The use of a vaginal softgel capsule for three months resulted in significant and clinically meaningful improvements in vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, and sexual function in postmenopausal women.
