Abstract
Aims
A short iliopsoas muscle, which is the primary flexor of the hip joint, has been associated with a smaller femoral neck anteversion (FNA) angle. However, no studies examining the relationship between iliopsoas muscle volume/surface area and FNA were found in the literature. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate this relationship. Methods: This study used 3D Slicer software to import abdominopelvic (including the knee joint) computed tomography (CT) images of 90 individuals and to automatically calculate the iliopsoas muscle’s volume and surface area. The FNA was measured manually on the CT scans using Radiant software.
