Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) remains an important public health problem. This study aimed to describe the distribution of population density, the distribution of TB cases, the spatial pattern of TB cases according to population density, and the annual trend of TB cases in Southeast Minahasa Regency from 2022 to 2025. A descriptive quantitative design with a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach was used. The data consisted of secondary TB case records from the Tuberculosis Information System (SITB) of the Southeast Minahasa District Health Office for 2022–2025 and population-density data from Statistics Indonesia for Southeast Minahasa Regency. The unit of analysis was the 12 districts. Data were processed using QGIS by joining attributes by district, classifying population density, and classifying the number of TB cases into three categories using the equal interval method. The spatial results showed that population density was relatively stable, with East Tombatu District having the highest density. In 2022, four districts were classified as having moderate TB cases, while in 2023–2025 Ratatotok District was the only district classified as having high TB cases. The recorded number of TB cases was 329 in 2022, 284 in 2023, 290 in 2024, and 245 in 2025. The spatial comparison showed that areas with high population density did not always have high TB case categories. This study is descriptive; therefore, the findings describe spatial distribution patterns and do not establish a causal relationship between population density and TB cases.
