Abstract
Stroke is a neurological disorder caused by disrupted blood flow to the brain that can lead to death and disability. Ischemic stroke is the most common type and is associated with various risk factors, both modifiable and non-modifiable. This study aimed to describe the distribution of stroke risk factors among patients with ischemic stroke at Pertamedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital, Banda Aceh, in 2025. This study used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Samples were taken using a total sampling technique, comprising 80 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The study was conducted from March to June 2026. Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that the majority of patients were aged ≥60 years (42 people, 52.5%), male (56 people, 70.0%), and had no family history (59 people, 73.8%). Based on modifiable risk factors, most patients had hypertension (61 people, 76.3%), did not have diabetes mellitus (55 people, 68.8%), had dyslipidemia (30 people, 37.5%), and did not have a history of coronary heart disease (61 people, 76.3%). It can be concluded that the distribution of stroke risk factors among patients with ischemic stroke at Pertamedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital, Banda Aceh, in 2025 was predominantly characterized by advanced age, male sex, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, while most patients had no family history, diabetes mellitus, or coronary heart disease.
