Modern Research Methodologies in Arm Biomechanics: Integrating Digital Wall in Volleyball and Handball
By Diandra-Florentina Adam and CRISTIAN POPA.
Abstract
The paper investigates the integration of Digital Wall technology in the biomechanical analysis of the arm, with direct applications in volleyball and handball-sports in which explosive strength, speed, and precision of movement are decisive performance factors. Within contemporary sport science, this research establishes the methodological framework for digitally assisted training and objective diagnostic evaluation. Synthesizing evidence from over 30 experimental and observational investigations published between 2000 and 2025 across PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, MDPI, BMC databases, the paper evaluates realtime sensory feedback mechanisms. The quantitative data demonstrate consistent improvements: throwing velocity increases by 9–12%, execution accuracy improves by 8–10%, and sensory-motor reaction latency is reduced by 15–20%. Furthermore, surface electromyography reveals optimized synergistic co-activation of deltoid and triceps muscles, mitigating shoulder impingement risk. Digital Wall technology proves to be an indispensablecomplementary instrument for motor performance optimization, longitudinal athletic monitoring, and targeted post-injury rehabilitation protocols.
