By Lalu Hulfian, Intan Primayanti and Lalu Muhammad Wisnu Hidayat.
Abstract
This study analyzes the nutritional status and physical condition of football athletes preparing for the East Lombok Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). The research responds to the need for objective baseline evidence that coaches can use to design individualized training priorities before competition. A quantitative descriptive design was applied using secondary field-test data from 20 male football athletes. Nutritional status was examined through body mass index, whereas physical condition was evaluated using estimated VO2max from the bleep test, 30 m sprint speed, 505 agility, and standing broad jump. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, category distribution, coefficient of variation, composite T-score, ranking, and exploratory Pearson correlation. The athletes showed a mean body mass index of 21.86 +/- 2.03 kg/m²; 80.00% were classified as normal, 15.00% as overweight, and 5.00% as underweight. Mean VO2max was 43.76 +/- 5.25 ml/kg/min, 30 m sprint time was 3.92 +/- 0.16 s, 505 agility time was 15.99 +/- 0.52 s, and standing broad jump was 250.80 +/- 14.21 cm. The composite score indicated that 15.00% of athletes were in the very good category, 30.00% good, and 55.00% fair. Body mass index had a weak, negative, and nonsignificant correlation with total physical condition. These findings show that the team has adequate nutritional status and promising speed-power qualities, but aerobic endurance and several individual profiles require more specific training and nutrition monitoring
