By Fang Li, Rui Wang, Tingting Ding and 2 others.
Abstract
Objective
The purpose of this study was to assess the 28-day prognosis and gastrointestinal protection of early Xuebijing in non-gastrointestinal sepsis.
Methods
Septic patients with infection origins outside the gastrointestinal system and no history of acute gastrointestinal injury (AGI) were included in this single-center retrospective analysis. The two groups’ baseline characteristics were balanced by propensity score matching (PSM). Secondary objectives were organ function, enteral nutrition tolerance, inflammatory markers, AGI onset time, and clinical outcomes. The primary endpoint was the incidence of 28-day AGI.
