Factors Associated with Fluid Overload and Major Complications in Neonates with D-TGA Following Arterial Switch Operation
By Restaino K, Alfakhri N, Delgado M and 4 others.
Abstract
Abstract Background: Fluid overload is common following congenital heart surgery and associated with worse clinical outcomes. Evaluations of factors associated with fluid overload in congenital heart disease subtypes are limited.
Objectives
To evaluate perioperative factors associated with fluid overload in neonates with d-transposition of the great arteries following arterial switch operation (ASO) or ASO and ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure. A secondary aim was to evaluate whether fluid overload is associated with major postoperative complication.
