Abstract
Abstract This study presents a field-scale production analysis of 3,550 horizontal wells in the Sooner Trend Anadarko Basin Canadian and Kingfisher (STACK) play of north-central Oklahoma using monthly production histories from 2008 through 2024. Multi-Segment Arps decline curves were fitted from peak production to reduce early-time ramp-up bias and were evaluated with material-balance-time diagnostics, type-curve validation, EUR estimation, GOR characterization, and decline-corrected parent–child interference screening. The material-balance-time diagnostics indicate transition away from early transient linear flow after approximately 13–32 months, supporting a segmented decline framework with hyperbolic early-time behavior followed by late-time exponential decline. EUR distributions show that Woodford Shale, WF/Miss. Combo, and Mississippian intervals provide the strongest recovery performance on a BOE basis, while Oswego remains a lower EUR but oil-rich target. Parent–child analysis of 17,191 candidate well pairs identifies 2,177 confirmed production-signature anomalies and 1,461 probable communication cases after correcting for expected parent decline. The results show that parent age alone is not protective; infill development should combine decline-corrected screening, formation-specific spacing, true lateral geometry, and pressure-support or prefill mitigation for depleted parent wells.
