Probiotics in Paediatric Gut and Immune Health: Mechanisms and Clinical Evidence with a Focus on Microbial Cell Preparations
By Ahmad HF, Item LM, Dema-ala GG and 4 others.
Abstract
Background
Early-life gut microbiota plays a fundamental role in immune and metabolic development. Although probiotics have been widely investigated in paediatric populations, evidence regarding microbial cell preparation (MCP)-associated probiotic formulations, in which selected probiotic strains are incorporated into a standardized microbial preparation, remains fragmented.
