Abstract
Background
This study characterized HBV and HIV molecular profiles and drug resistance mutations in South Kivu, DRC.
Methods
A cross-sectional study included 3,421 participants aged 18–70 years. Serological testing was performed using ELISA, and viral loads (VL) were quantified by GeneXpert. Molecular analyses involved 132 HBV-positive and 383 HIV-positive samples. Nucleic acids were extracted using QIAamp® MiniElute®. HBV genotyping was performed by PCR, and HIV-1 sequencing using the Viroseq® system.
