Introduction

Aging is often accompanied by the presence of chronic and degenerative diseases, which lead to functional deficits as a consequence and increase the occurrence of painful processes. Older adults are more susceptible to developing chronic pain, with its prevalence ranging from 29.7% to 89.9%. Therefore, chronic pain can physically, psychologically, and even socially impact older individuals, making its management difficult and compromising the quality of life of this population.
