Temporal Shell Silastic Implants: Surgical Technique and Clinical Cosmetic Experience
By Robert James Troell and Barry L. Eppley.
Abstract
Introduction
Loss of volume or hollowing occurs in the temporal fossa with aging. Volume replacement with fillers is the most common treatment option, but those requesting permanency may request temporal shell silastic implants. Materials and Methods: This study is a retrospective review of consecutive patients evaluating aesthetic permanent temporal fossa volume enhancement using temporal shell silastic implants with 2 different surface area coverages of differing thicknesses.
