Abstract
Abstract Aims Evaluate the use of the MyPAO planning and guide technology for performing periacetabular pelvic osteotomy surgery and assess product safety and early clinical experience. Population Inclusion criteria • Age greater than 18 years • Hip symptoms including pain, clicking, catching or giving way • Radiographic evidence of acetabular dysplasia (centre edge angle <24degrees) • Failure of conservative management Exclusion criteria • Evidence of hip degeneration (Tonnis Grade 1 or greater) • Known allergy to Polyamide PA12 • Unable to provide written informed consent Outcome Measures Intraoperative evaluation of the device including ease of use and fit to anatomy Adverse events and serious adverse events up to 3 months following surgery Surgical time Radiological correction of lateral centre edge and sourcil angles Results and Discusion We recruited 15 patients with hip dysplasia from The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Northumbria Foundation Trust, UK. We will present our early clinical experience, and outcome and safety data for these first 15 patients. Funding The research project was investigator led, however the research and equipment costs were covered by Medacta. Medacta were not involved in the design or conduct of the research.
