Radiation-sparing techniques for pedicle screw guidance: a narrative review
By Robert Kamil, Erion Sulaj, Shiv Patel and 4 others.
Abstract
Background
Accurate pedicle screw placement is fundamental to spinal instrumentation, but fluoroscopy and intraoperative computed tomography expose patients and operating-room personnel to ionizing radiation. Because many emerging technologies reduce rather than eliminate radiation across an entire operation, distinguishing radiation-independent from radiation-minimizing techniques is clinically important.
