Abstract
To address the issue of ammonia leak abatement in confined spaces on ammonia-fueled vessels, this paper presents experimental research on the NTP synergistic catalysis for NH 3 removal under high-concentration, high-flow-rate conditions. Catalysts supported on γ-Al 2 O 3 , including FeAl, CuAl, MnAl, CrAl, CeAl were prepared. Under conditions of 34 W discharge power, initial concentration of 12% and gas flow rate of 0.66 L/min, compared with uncatalyzed, MnAl catalyst achieved 23.06% increase in NH 3 removal (54.85%) and 16.75% increase in energy efficiency (3.04 mol/kWh). The designed decontamination device can reduce NH 3 at concentration of 12% to within safe limits, with NH 3 removal rate as high as 99.62%. “Tall and broad” reduction and desorption peaks of the catalyst result in better deep oxidation and basic effects, while low electrical conductivity enables improved gas-phase discharge to enhance the NH 3 removal.
