External Validation and Transportability of the Equitable Donor Assessment Model in a National UK Kidney Transplant Cohort

Abstract
Accurate assessment of deceased donor kidney quality is fundamental to organ allocation and clinical decision-making. The recently developed Equitable Donor Assessment Model (EDAM) is a donor-only competing-risk prediction model that estimates graft failure while accounting for the competing risk of death with a functioning graft, thereby distinguishing graft-specific failure from patient mortality [1]. In the original US modelling study, EDAM demonstrated improved discrimination compared with the Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI) and substantial reclassification of donor risk, supporting further evaluation of the model beyond its derivation population [1].
