Society for Vascular Nursing position statement on vascular nursing research
Abstract
Evidence-based practice is critical to the continued advancement of nursing and the key to professional accountability. Nursing research is the foundation for evidence-based practice. Historically, little vascular nursing research was available in the literature. Recent expansion of the number of clinical research coordinators, advanced practice nurses, and doctorally prepared nurse researchers has increased the generation of vascular nursing research. Professional, governmental, and consumer expectations for quality healthcare contribute to the need for a continued emphasis on vascular nursing research.
