Chinese guidelines for the clinical application of antibacterial drugs for febrile neutropenia (2026)

Febrile neutropenia is associated with a high risk of infection-related mortality if appropriate antimicrobial therapy is not initiated promptly. In recent years, the diagnostic and therapeutic concepts for febrile neutropenia have substantially advanced, along with new epidemiological data on pathogens, particularly drug-resistant bacteria. According to evidence-based medical evidence from both domestic and international sources, the Chinese Society of Hematology, Chinese Medical Association and Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Hematology Branch organized experts in related fields to update the 2020 edition guidelines. The GRADE method was employed to develop revised recommendations for evidence quality assessment and recommendation strength grading.
