Effect of Drug-Coated Balloons on Recurrent Venous Hypertension Due to Central Venous Lesions in Patients with Hemodialysis Vascular Access
By Eguchi D and Honma K.
Abstract
Objectives
This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of drug-coated balloons (DCBs) for symptomatic and recurrent central venous lesions (including in-stent restenosis and occlusion) in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Methods
Twenty-seven patients treated with DCBs for symptomatic central venous lesions between June 2021 and September 2025 were included. We examined the overall efficacy of DCBs, the outcomes of repeated use, and factors affecting patency.
