By Barbosa DAO, de Sousa MOP, da Rocha MLM and 9 others.
Abstract
Objectives
This study aimed to conduct an anthropometric analysis of children with microcephaly caused by Zika virus infection and to compare results with those of a control group.
Materials and methods
The study included 12 children with congenital microcephaly (experimental group) and 15 normosystemic children (control group), all aged 4-5 years. Eight anthropometric facial points were marked to assess the upper, middle, and lower thirds of the face. Statistics: To assess normality, the Shapiro-Wilk test was used, followed by the Student's t-test to compare groups at the 95% confidence level.
