Non-Muscle Invasive Primary Bladder Adenocarcinoma in a Young Filipino Male: A Case Report
By Remo Vittorio Thaddeus D Abella and Rudolfo De Guzman.
Abstract
Primary adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder comprises only 0.5% to 2% of all bladder malignancies. This case report describes a relatively young Filipino male presenting initially with lower urinary tract symptoms which on imaging raised suspicion for a bladder tumor. After undergoing cystoscopy with transurethral resection of bladder tumor, it was confirmed as a case of primary non-muscle invasive, enteric type, primary bladder adenocarcinoma. Radical cystectomy with ileal conduit was performed which showed only intestinal metaplasia without evidence of residual tumor or nodal involvement. No recurrence was seen on PET CT after 6 months.
