Traditional versus Flexible-tip with Suction Ureteral Access Sheath in Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery

Abstract
Objective
This study aimed to compare use of traditional ureteral access sheath (T UAS) and flexible tip with suction ureteral access sheath (FTS UAS) in retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) with respect to stone free rate, operative time, and complication rate for renal stones measuring 10 to 20mm.
Methods
A total of 20 participants were enrolled and randomized into two arms, T UAS and FTS UAS, and underwent RIRS between January and May 2026. Demographic data, stone characteristics, stone free rate, operative time, postoperative complication rate and length of hospital stay were analyzed.
