Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the predictive role of the Stone Heterogeneity Index (SHI) on lithotripsy time, blood loss, stone-free rate, and stone composition in patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
Methods
This prospective study included 100 PCNL patients at a tertiary government hospital. SHI was measured preoperatively on non-contrast enhanced CT-scan and analyzed against intraoperative lithotripsy duration, perioperative hemoglobin/hematocrit drop, 1-month stone-free status, and stone composition. Regression and ROC analyses were performed, adjusting for stone size, location, and density (Hounsfield Units).
