Maternal body mass index as a metabolic determinant of obstetric outcomes in primigravida with unengaged head at term

Background

Unengaged foetal head at term in primigravida women is associated with adverse obstetric outcomes. Maternal body mass index (BMI) can also influence labour and delivery. Limited information is available on the relationship between BMI and outcomes in women with unengaged foetal head. The objective of this study was to determine the association of maternal BMI with obstetric and neonatal outcomes among primigravida women with unengaged foetal head at term.
