Neurocognitive profiling in Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS): A minireview of current evidence
By Soumen Manna and Saloni Kumari.
Abstract
Background
Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common long-term heterogeneous endocrine disorder characterized by hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, and ovulatory dysfunction. Evidence suggests that hormonal and metabolic disruptions inherent to PCOS may also impair neurocognitive functioning.
