Abstract
Anemia among adolescent girls remains a public health concern, while compliance with Iron Tablet (IT) consumption remains one of the challenges in its prevention. This study aimed to analyze the effects of knowledge and attitude on the compliance of eighth-grade female students at SMP Negeri 1 Banda Aceh in consuming Iron Tablets using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach and total sampling technique involving 120 female students. Primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that knowledge had a positive and significant effect on compliance (path coefficient = 0.525; p = 0.000). Attitude also had a positive and significant effect on compliance (path coefficient = 0.376; p = 0.000). The R² value of 0.621 indicated that 62.1% of the variance in compliance could be explained by knowledge and attitude, while the remaining 37.9% was explained by other variables outside the research model. This study concluded that knowledge and attitude had positive and significant effects on compliance with Iron Tablet consumption. Therefore, strengthening education on anemia and Iron Tablets, along with routine monitoring of Iron Tablet consumption at school, is recommended.
